Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in Cleveland

Approach to Working Together

Individuals seeking a consultation or therapy can expect to meet with me one or more times to discuss the history and current status of their concerns before a treatment recommendation is made. That recommendation might include supportive counseling, psychotherapy or psychoanalysis, couples counseling, or further evaluation. Therapy, if recommended, could involve brief counseling or a longer course of work, depending on your needs and goals.

Each patient, or client, is considered individually; no formulas for treatment are implemented because it is my firm belief that people are best treated first as individuals rather than members of a diagnostic class.

In most cases, you will have a regular, standing appointment that will be weekly, or more frequently in the case of more intensive therapy. Regular, frequent appointments not only make the availability of sessions predictable, but also promote engagement in therapy and enhance the opportunity to address your concerns.

Either before or during your first visit, you will be asked to sign a Psychotherapist-Patient Services Agreement that describes the office’s policies, including privacy, fees and billing, contact information, and your rights and responsibilities. Minors under the age of 18 will be required to provide their parent or guardian’s acceptance of the service agreement.
